2017 History Magazine Winter Edition

As 2017 comes to an end, the Osceola County Historical Society will share the latest issue of the Osceola County Historical Society’s History Magazine. The History Magazine is a publication that is issued electronically to the Osceola County Historical Society’s website twice a year for your reading pleasure.

 In the 2017 History Magazine Winter Edition, you’ll learn a little bit more about our inspired and motivated County Commissioner Viviana Janer. Commissioner Janer expresses her passion toward improving Osceola County by focusing on transportation, affordable housing and, diversifying our community.

 You will read about one of the Osceola County Historical Society’s volunteer and her experience working with our Curator, Kayla Smith and Program Director, Larissa Bixby as they all work together to create the newest temporary exhibit; Historic Health: Hospitals and Cure-Alls that is on display at the Osceola County Welcome Center and History Museum until January 30, 2018.

 Lisa Liu, the Osceola County Historical Society: Narcoossee Chapter President shares adventures of Fredrick William Hill, an early settler and sailor of the famous Cutty Sark, who traversed the world.

Finally, learn more about the brand new Replica General Store at the Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek. The building's grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony took place during the 26th Annual Pioneer Day event.
