We've got a rundown of 9 recipes you can make with a pork butt, it is almost like the never-ending list of things Forest Gump came up with for shrimp. But, maybe just a wee bit better. Here we go:
- Pork Butt Shepards Pie
- Pork Butt Enchiladas
- Pork Butt Thin Crust Pizza
- Pork Butt Parmesan Sliders
- Pork Butt Tacos
- Pork Butt Baked Beans
- Pork Butt Ragu over Penne Pasta
- Pork Butt Stew
- Pork Butt Eggroll
If you can't tell, we kind of have a thing for pork butt recipes. There is good reason for it though. The Osceola County Historical Society is hosting its 5th annual Pioneer Day Pork Butt Sale and if you do anything this year along the lines of buying pork in bulk, this is it (because everyone needs a reason to cook nine different pork butt related recipes, right?!).
The pork butts are seasoned, cooked and ready to go when you pick them up on October 30th, all you have to do is place your order. Who doesn’t like letting someone else do the work when it comes to slaving over a hot stove, er, smoker? And we have to say, it’s a hard job working at the Welcome Center on cooking day. Phil Davis will be here, on site, all day making sure the pork butts are cooked to perfection.
This sale is not just any ordinary sale though, it’s one of our key fundraisers to kick off Pioneer Day. The money raised in this fundraiser will be used to make Pioneer Day as pioneerish as possible and this year’s Pioneer Day is much anticipated with it coinciding with the Grand Opening of the newly expanded Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek.
So, order up yours today! Sales run through October 28th. Buy one butt, or buy more, the choice is yours.
