A Rockin' BBQ Experience

Posted by Audrey Snow-Brine on Oct 11, 2018 8:00:00 AM

Fair warning—this blog post contains pictures of mouth-watering barbeque food. Be prepared to crave this amazing food!

Big John’s Rockin’ BBQ is a staple of downtown Kissimmee. Located on Broadway in the heart of downtown, the restaurant is less than a block away from the Amtrak and Sunrail, as well as the bus station. This rock and roll-themed restaurant is perfect for the whole family—especially music and BBQ lovers! The atmosphere is so fun and inviting. The walls are covered with music memorabilia, including autographed pictures of some of the most recognized Rock and Roll artists of all time. The musical memories that can be found on the walls of Big John’s Rockin’ BBQ have been years and years in the making—the owner of the restaurant, John Glover, has been collecting since he was 13 years old.

I recently had the chance to eat at Big John’s Rockin’ BBQ for the first time. The menu was filled with classic barbeque food, as well as salads and vegetables. I decided to try the chicken and waffles—which were amazing! The waffles were warm and delicious, and the chicken was crispy and flavorful, which created the perfect combination! The portion size was very generous, and I was able to take the rest of my meal home to eat later! Krystal, the Osceola County Historical Society’s Marketing and Development Manager, couldn’t decided on one thing, so she chose the sampler—pulled pork and chicken, brisket, and a rib with two sides.

Big John’s Rockin’ BBQ provides a great atmosphere and experience for people of all ages. The restaurant is also family-friendly—kids eat free Monday-Thursday (see https://www.bigjohnsrockinbbq.com/specials for more information)! Big John’s Rockin’ BBQ is also open for breakfast! Check out their breakfast options, as well as their lunch and dinner menu: https://www.bigjohnsrockinbbq.com/menu.

If you love barbeque food, keep in mind that Big John’s Rockin’ BBQ offers catering for parties and events! The Osceola County Historical Society had the pleasure of booking Big John’s Rockin’ BBQ for the 9th Annual Dine with the Departed—and, of course, the food was a hit! My lunch was delicious and I would recommend the restaurant to anyone who loves good food! Be sure to visit Big John’s Rockin’ BBQ to experience it for yourself!
