Do you like trying new foods? Are you a fan of unique stores? How about classic vehicles and muscle cars? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then Old Town in Kissimmee is perfect for you!
Minutes from Disney, Old Town is a family-friendly spot to relax and enjoy some of Kissimmee’s coolest stores and restaurants. From surf shops to “as seen on TV” stores, Old Town provides a welcoming and enjoyable shopping experience for everyone. In addition to the great shopping, there is a variety of unique restaurants, including a few classics you may have heard of, such as Flippers Pizzeria and Jimmy John’s.
I recently visited Old Town and wanted to share my experience! I went to the Friday Night Muscle Car Show & Cruise, and then returned on Saturday to check out the newest restaurant added to Old Town, Frogger’s.
Every Friday night, Old Town’s streets are lined with impressive and unique muscle cars for their Friday Night Muscle Car Show & Cruise. Although I know next to nothing about cars, viewing the cars on show was really fun. Many of the cars were customized specially by their owners, which added a personal touch to the vehicles. My favorite part of the muscle car night was the car parade. All of the cars lined up and drove down the streets of Old Town. It was an awesome experience to watch as these amazing cars drove by, with their proud owners waving to visitors. Overall, it was a great way to spend a Friday night with my family.
On Saturday, I visited Frogger’s with my mom and my aunt. We were on our way to a concert, so we decided to stop in and get an appetizer, an entrée, and a dessert to share. The restaurant is brand new to Old Town and I was excited to check it out. The atmosphere was casual and fun. One of the first things I saw when I walked in was a wall of beers on tap! The menu provided a variety of choices, ranging from rice bowls and salads, to burgers and sandwiches. What caught my eye, though, was the page in their menu that was dedicated to their famous chicken wings. We decided to try wings, steak tacos, and the donut sundae. Everything was great! The wings were delicious. The steak tacos were also very flavorful, and the sauce that was drizzled on top had a little kick to it. For the steak tacos, we decided to “make it a platter,” which added on rice, beans, and plantains. The plantains were amazing! Finally, the donut sundae had a glazed donut topped with ice cream, chocolate and caramel, whipped cream, sprinkles, and a cherry on top. Our waitress was friendly, the food was delicious, and the overall experience was enjoyable.
After visiting Old Town, I would definitely recommend it to locals and tourists, alike. Whether it’s car shows, restaurants, shopping, karaoke, family movie night, or another experience in Old Town, there is truly something for everyone.
