May was publicized History Month in a Proclamation presented by Osceola County and the Board of County Commissioners on May 8, 2017.
" Whereas the Osceola County Historical Society publicizes May as Osceola County History Month to bring an increased awareness to the citizens of Osceola County, providing opportunities to promote preservation, appreciation, and recognition of its historical resources."
On May 11, 2017, Nathan Blackwell, Mayor of the City of St. Cloud proclaimed the month of May 2017 as Osceola County History Month.
"Whereas it is important to celebrate the significance history has made in the shaping of Osceola County and to remember the contributions countless citizens have made to formulate its legacy."
May 16, 2017, the Osceola County Historcal Society was presented the City of Kissimmee Proclamation.
"Whereas, May marks the birth of Osceola's founding and during Osceola County History Month, citizens are encourged to actively participate in preservation and appreciation; helping to preserve the past for the future and ensuring the promise of a better life for generations to come."
And on May 16, 2017 the Osceola County Historical Society was presented the Osceola County School Board Proclamation declaring May 2017 History Month.
"Whereas, Osceola County recognizes that the Osceola County Historical Society is the longest standing and most widely recognized historical entity in Osceola County."
