Stepping in Time to the Music

Posted by Larissa Bixby on Mar 9, 2017 11:30:00 AM

Toe tapping and finger snapping aren’t usually something you’d do at an exhibit opening, unless that opening is about music, or in our case, the bands of Osceola County. At the opening reception we welcomed former band director, Larry O’Grady, who spoke about his days at Denn John and Osceola High School. The reception guests were also treated to a performance by a few of the members of OHS drum line.

At our Art in the Archives: Paint Night participants got to try their hand at creating a musical ensemble to hang in their abodes. By the end of the night, the blank canvases were filled with musical notes and a stylistically wonky keyboard that would complement any Art in the archive feb 22.jpgpiano or musical space.     Art in the Archives Feb 22 ..jpg

If you haven't seen Step in Time: Marching Bands of Osceola County, there's still time to drop by the Osceola County Welcome Center and History Museum before it disappears on April 15, 2017.
