Sweet Potato Cake

Everyone is familiar with sweet potato pie, but have you ever made a sweet potato cake?  The following recipe was printed in the local newspaper in 1917.KVG 26 Oct 1917 sweet potato  cake.jpg

 

The 36 ½ pound sweet potato that grew in St. Cloud about 1915, would certainly make a lot of pies and cakes!!
